INGREDIENTS:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
DIRECTIONS:
Combine sugar and water in saucepan and bring just to boiling. Cool before brushing on pie. Leftover syrup can be stored, covered, in refrigerator. What makes this pie so appealing to the eye is the shiny, golden crust. The syrup, which hardens on the crust, gives it a tender, sweet taste and thanks to the rim of aluminum foil, the edges of the crust will never burn.
