INGREDIENTS:
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. melted butter
6 c. peeled apples, sliced
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Double pie crust
DIRECTIONS:
Combine melted butter, pecans and brown sugar. Spread on bottom of pie pan. Place prepared pie crust over pecan mixture in pan.
In large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour and spices. Spoon into pie crust- lined pan. Top with second crust and fold edge of top crust under bottom crust. Bake until crust is golden brown at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Cool pan upright for 5 minutes. Place serving plate over pie and invert. Carefully remove pan. Cool 1 hour before serving.
