Mystery Pecan Pie

INGREDIENTS:

9 inch pie shell
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. chopped pecans
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

DIRECTIONS:

Cream together: cream cheese, 1 egg, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread in pie shell. Sprinkle pecans over. Mix remaining ingredients well and pour over all. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes (until browned).
Top will rise like souffle, then sink. Don’t worry!
