Grandma’s Apple - Pear Pie

INGREDIENTS:

3 c. sliced, pared apples
2 c. sliced, fresh pears
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon or apple pie spice
2 tbsp. butter

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry for 9 inch two crust pie. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and butter. Alternate layers of apples, pears, and sugar mixture. Cover with woven lattice or top crust. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until light brown.
Apple-Cranberry Pie: For a tasty holiday treat, substitute 2 cups fresh cranberries.
