INGREDIENTS:
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 sm. pkg. strawberry Jello
Few drops red food coloring if desired
Baked pie shell
Cool Whip or whipped cream
1 qt. cut-up strawberries
DIRECTIONS:
Cook sugar, water, and cornstarch until thick like pudding. Take off stove; add the Jello and coloring. Stir in the strawberries; pour in shell and refrigerate. Serve with the cream.
Fresh peaches are delicious and use peach Jello. I have used canned ones and then I use the peach juice instead of water in the thickening.
Also, it is good to cut up the strawberries and put a little sugar on them. Stir them up and let stand and then use the juice instead of the water.
